Part 2 - Interview with Carole Whang Schutter, screenwriter of SEPTEMBER DAWN

Dianne: What challenges or fears have you experienced while writing this movie?

CWS: I was scared to write this movie as truth. I first wrote it as fiction involving a made-up cult called the "Jehovites." Chris [Cain] told me to write the truth. I told him I didn't want people to get mad at me.

God wants Holy Ghost boldness. We are in the last days and we need to stand up for our God and for the truth.

Coming next: How has the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints responded to the movie?

I see a lot of emotional disruption in the writing of this movie. Isn't it wild how we are effected by those who want to discredit the work of God to share His story?

I'm devouring this interview. Dianne, you've done a wonderful job with it so far.

I can understand Carole's fear, and what she was afraid of came true. It is difficult when we are put in such positions, but how wonderful it is that God used Carole in such a way. I wonder if the reaction to the movie and book would have been more positive if Carole had decided to stay with her made-up cult.

Thanks for letting us use this interview during Carole's tour, Dianne. I look forward to Monday's entry.
